There is something special about viewing the land from the water - everything looks calmer from out there, like the world has slowed down just enough to breathe. I wanted to capture that feeling of being held between two worlds - the open water behind you and the solid earth ahead - with the tides gently reminding you that nature has its own rhythm and it has nothing to do with your to-do list.

I kept the scene honest and real, the way it actually feels to sit on the water and just look back and take it all in.
