Mosaics

Livia Kerr’s one-of-a-kind mosaics are hand-designed and incorporate a diverse array of materials like: stone, smalti (a specialized glass for mosaics), hand-pulled filati (fused glass rods), raku and metal wire, to enhance texture and dimensionality. Among these materials, slate stands out as a personal favorite for the artist due to its inherent strength and delicate qualities, offering an array of colors and surface variations.

"I began creating abstract mosaics when I discovered the potential of incorporating natural elements such as rocks, slate, driftwood, shells and pretty much everything you can think of in my works. Nature has always been a profound source of inspiration for me, particularly the textured, organic shapes of its elements."
